MI blueberry picking

Growing up we picked blueberries every summer in Port Sheldon. This year we continued the tradition with Molly!

She was timid at first - didn't want to walk in the tall-ish wet grass or get dirty (she can be rather prissy). But she got really into it by the end, running up and down the rows, picking blueberries and putting them in her own bucket!

She won't eat the blueberries we get here in Texas (they're grainy and not very sweet - not trying to COMPLAIN or anything) but she devoured them while we were in Michigan. No comparison!

Here are the M&Ms:

Jenn and Will's wedding

flashback to memorial day weekend because I'm just now loading the pictures on my computer - JC and I were honored to be a part of some college best friends' wedding! Congrats Jenn and Will McEwen!

back from our trip!

We just got back from a wonderful 10-day trip! First, Chris Nilan (JC's best friend) got married to beautiful bride Julie in St. Louis - it was a blast and we loved seeing college friends!
See some of their awesome pictures here:

Next, we went flew straight to Michigan where we stayed with my entire family in a cottage on Lake Michigan. We had both sets of my grandparents, plus Aunt Katie and cousin Soosha with my entire immediate family. It was a wonderful and memorable trip! So relaxing and fun playing games, reading, going to the beach, beach volleyball & tennis, roasting s'mores over the fire, and of course my dad's wonderful cooking every night. More pictures to come, but here are two I got on my camera.

Hugs!

When Molly gets around little kids she sometimes gets in hugging mode, where she continually tries to give them some love. Here she is with her sweet friend Lainey at the mall play area.

Lainey was a good sport! :)

Uh ohhhh (in the words of molly)

So, Molly has her arm in a cast. She fractured it, probably while taking a fall outside on Monday... It wasn't a funky color and I didn't even realize she must've landed on it funny until I felt her forearm yesterday morning and it was swollen. We went to the pediatrician and then children's medical center in Plano.

On the xray there is a little bump on her bone next to her wrist (that's what it looked like). She has a "closed" fracture (almost like a bend in her soft baby bones) and needs a full-arm cast for five weeks! It has to be full-arm at this age or else she would wiggle right out of it.

Poor baby! Although she had to tell ME to hold it together numerous times, she didn't cry once - she thought the whole process was fascinating (although I saw a few winces when we were positioning her arm for xrays). Such a brave girl.

She slept great last night and today she is much happier than the last couple days, even though she sometimes has trouble picking things up with her right hand and pushing herself up.
Sweet little Molly!

molly's one-year "portraits"

Our friend Mary Kathryn took some wonderful pictures!!
I put "portraits" in quotation marks because to me that implies her sitting still. (There was none of that, of course.)
We love our sweet Molly!
