Whoops

I haven't given up this blog... Sorry it's taken me so long to post!!

Caroline is 7months, one week -rolling everywhere and eating everything. Okay, maybe not everything, but she has tried a lot of different fruits/vegetables, grains, yogurt, chicken...

We are doing a different feeding method this time where she learns to feed herself.

It is a very low-pressure and fun way to do it - based on the fact that the best and only needed food for her first year is mama's milk (or formula). Solid food is just for fun and learning. So far the only downside is the mess!

Happy half-birthday to Caroline!!

Our sweet little baby is six months old... Hard to believe!! We are all completely enamored with Caroline and still can't snuggle her and squeeze her rolls enough.

She is SUCH a sweet and social baby. She loves when we talk to her and laugh with her - it is not hard to get a huge gummy smile and laughs out of her. My favorite is when Molly and Caroline look at each other and laugh together!

Licking some avocado... Her first taste of solids!

Gotta love the look above - this is when a little piece broke off and she had it in her mouth. Very foreign!

Caroline LOVES when daddy comes home - she starts gasping, kicking her legs and squealing

Oh, and she just got her first two teeth! Hard to see in a picture but they are poking out and so precious.

Back!

We're back from 11 days in Michigan! We had an awesome vacation in the same cottage as last year right on the beach. It was so beautiful, and a perfect retreat from the heat (for the most part:)).
All our pictures are on my parents' great camera but here are three I have from the beach.

Caroline is getting so big! She is five months old. She's rolling both ways, squealing, blowing raspberries and squawking very loudly when she is especially social. She's still a little roly-poly and we love squeezing her!

Little girl updates

Caroline is four months old! She had her check-up yesterday - she weighs 14lbs, 8oz (75th %ile) and is 15.5in long (90th %ile) - same as last time. Still a big girl and all looks great! She is so precious and we are in love with her - I can't squeeze or kiss this little baby enough.

She is sucking/knawing on everything these days and drooling everywhere. She grabs and holds onto toys and loves to play patty cake and itsy bitsy spider - it's a sure way to get her laughing hilariously!

Molly is testing us at every turn, but is still such a sweetheart. Amazing how one little person can make you so frustrated, but how much you fiercely love and enjoy them still. :) Parenthood demands incredible patience, that's for sure! Molly really is a ton of fun, though. Always learning and putting new funny sentences together. She has so much energy - she loves to hop around like a bunny - she could do this endlessly. She also still likes to run laps around our house saying, "look Caroline, look Caroline!!" every time she comes around the bend. Singing silly preschool songs, dancing, and playing with balls also top molly's favorite things!

Had a great visit to Little Rock last weekend to stay with JoJo and Pops! Molly in Daddy's lap on the plane -

Caroline's first plane ride! Of course, she did perfectly...

Some of JC's (non-parent) guy friends have joked about him being on the Oregon trail when he travels... with the kiddos, wife, and all the stuff we have to bring along. (for one weekend, no less!) Gone are the days of carrying on our suitcases for nine days in France... Instead we're fording rivers and hunting buffalo.
