Baby Crawford's Pool

I've already told you about the Hoey cousin competition, but unless you are among those blessed few, you may feel left out.

Don't worry! Our friend David Coons (see pic of JC and his roommates senior year at wake - Coons is on the right) has set up a pool for everyone who wants to play. It's $5; the more entries, the better the pot! For more details and to enter: Baby Crawford Birthdate Pool

The deadline is April 7, so you've got ONE WEEK to make your final guesses!

Can't get enough competition around the Crawford house,
JC and Sarah

honeydew melon

Hey friends! We've got 4.5 weeks left until our due date...

Baby Crawford weighs a little more than a honeydew melon and is almost 6 pounds! BC's gaining about an ounce a day - putting on cute baby fat. Besides chunking up, everything else is pretty much ready to go!

I'm starting to get the little aches that pregnant women complain about. But it's really not so bad! I'm more annoyed at not enjoying wine with dinner and feeling like I have chipmunk cheeks than anything else. But being able to experience God growing a little life inside me is SO WORTH IT!!

We are so excited to meet our little baby we can hardly stand it!!! I'll be posting pictures this week of our second, wonderful baby shower with the Crawfords' sweet friends 3/21, and then of the baby room progress. Stay tuned!

Hail to the Grannies!

Introducing the soon-to-be grandmothers!

We have "Cookie" on the left, ziplining in Costa Rica, and "Boo-Boo" on the right, sniffing wine in Napa.

The name "Cookie" came from both Alison's famous cookie recipe and because it's so darn cute, just like her.

"Boo-Boo" was Martha's childhood name because she had big, pretty eyes like Boo-Boo the bear, Yogi bear's best bud. We thought it only appropriate to bring back this nickname. (Heck, it's stitched on her Christmas stocking!)

Our wonderful mothers are so dedicated to God and their families. They've shown us great examples of how to love and nurture our new baby. JC and I are so blessed to have them in our lives and love them very much!

34 weeks!

It's been a big last couple of weeks! (Sorry for the late post...) My family (minus adam, sad) came in town last weekend and we had a baby shower!!
We were so incredibly blessed by our wonderful friends and family - wow, we couldn't believe what a fantastic party our friends the Schefflers, Woods, Ices, Hintons and Weitkamps (above) threw! It was such a fun time and we are still in awe of all of your generosity. We feel so much more prepared now to bring little baby home! THANK YOU!!These are our parents. And JC making a great face. It's kind of weird to have people rub your belly all the time, but I like it! :) There are plenty of other great pics, including ones that capture all the amazing details that were put into this shower, but I'm kind of waiting on "Aunt" Maggie to post some on facebook. (hint, hint!)

Thanks again to everyone for the wonderful help as we start our family!

Paw Paw and Crawdaddy

Introducing...
the grandfathers!

Can't you just feel the family love? JC and I are so blessed to have awesome dads who coached us, taught us right from wrong, and are about to make very goofy, I mean, excellent grandpas and role models for BC.

So far we've come up with the name Paw-Paw for Bill (left) and Crawdaddy for Brad (right). These are up for interpretation when BC starts talking (as the first grandchild he'll probably have some naming privileges...). Any suggestions from the peanut gallery?

Stay tuned for the grannies! Although I might have a harder time finding as good a picture... If only I had one of them dancing on a bar! Now that would be something.

8 months update

Our little baby BC is 32 weeks and that means I'm 8 months pregnant. Wow!!

He/She's got nails, hair (either a thick mop or peach fuzz - we'll find out!), and weighs close to four pounds. The produce of the week is a jicama - which is a mexican turnip/potato sort of thing. Very odd!

We can't believe the big life-changing event is coming so soon. We've got our 8th and final birth class on Tuesday - after which we will be fully prepared for natural labor and delivery, along with postpartum recovery and infant care. (Haha!) But really, we feel much more prepared for the whole thing.

I'm still feeling great - no cankles or anything yet. Mostly just excited!
