Uh ohhhh (in the words of molly)

So, Molly has her arm in a cast. She fractured it, probably while taking a fall outside on Monday... It wasn't a funky color and I didn't even realize she must've landed on it funny until I felt her forearm yesterday morning and it was swollen. We went to the pediatrician and then children's medical center in Plano.

On the xray there is a little bump on her bone next to her wrist (that's what it looked like). She has a "closed" fracture (almost like a bend in her soft baby bones) and needs a full-arm cast for five weeks! It has to be full-arm at this age or else she would wiggle right out of it.

Poor baby! Although she had to tell ME to hold it together numerous times, she didn't cry once - she thought the whole process was fascinating (although I saw a few winces when we were positioning her arm for xrays). Such a brave girl.

She slept great last night and today she is much happier than the last couple days, even though she sometimes has trouble picking things up with her right hand and pushing herself up.
Sweet little Molly!

molly's one-year "portraits"

Our friend Mary Kathryn took some wonderful pictures!!
I put "portraits" in quotation marks because to me that implies her sitting still. (There was none of that, of course.)
We love our sweet Molly!

Pictures from the week...

With one of her favorite books - puppy peekaboo!

With her scooter... She likes to put toys on it and push it around:

Molly got it in her head she was going to carry her book behind her head. I have no idea why. She cracks us up!

Her new 18mo. jammies, all slouchy and cute:

She loves her puppy dogs and runs around with them making her dog sound, which doesn't really sound like a dog... More just like an "uh! uh!":

Cutie cutie!

Molly's been wearing a new tutu all day today!

Oh, and she's been getting molars! FUN. I knew there were two on the bottom working since last week but I just felt her top gums and there are two up there coming in! (I have to go by feel because there is no way she will be docile enough to let me look in there... Except when she was screaming while I had to pin her down to get her one-year-old shots, SAD!)

Molly's birthday week

We've been rather busy over here! Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while.
My whole family was in town last weekend and we had a birthday celebration Saturday, dedicated her at church on Sunday, and then had a big mother's day lunch afterward.

We had so much fun!! I am waiting on pictures from my parent's camera and our friend Mary Kathryn got some from her birthday - she makes it look so fancy:) a few pictures are here: http://mkimages.squarespace.com/journal/

Molly is walking very fast! She also eats all sorts of adult-ish food (ie. mom's ragĂș, shepherd's pie, chicken tettrizini) says uh-ohhh, chases and screams at birds, dogs and other children, and basically is the cutest, most squealy and happy thing ever!

Our big trip

Hello! Last week Molly and I went to Florida tuesday with my family for mary's spring break. We spent time with my mom's parents (mimi and papa doc) and aunt Katie, uncle victor and cousin soosha (a very faithful blog reader!)

This was while JC was at the masters. We drove back to Atlanta on Friday and then my dad and I joined JC in Augusta for Saturday and Sunday.
We had a great time, and Molly had a lot of new experiences! First time at the pool and beach - both of which she was rather apprehensive about.

She didn't like the cold water and the sand was too scratchy. She did warm up to splashing in the water and playing in the sand by the end of the trip, but for the most part she was being a little prissy, and it was pretty funny.

I have a ton of pics I need to download to picasa, but these are some from my phone!

Long time no post

Sorry it's been a while! We have had quite the week. JC was in a car wreck Tuesday where someone swerved and hit him. His truck flipped, flew up the road, was completely totalled, and he walked away with two stitches in his arm and minimal soreness. It was absolutely a miracle that he was fine and we are thanking God non-stop for his protection!

Molly took her first steps the very same day! It is precious to watch her learn how to walk. This is, as many things are to Molly (and her proud parents), very thrilling and we have no shortage of squealing at our house!

I flew the coop for the first time post-Molly this past weekend (not without a few tearful breakdowns)! I was in NYC for a bachelorette party for one of my college bffs Jenn (pic is the only one I have on my phone, but trust me there are a bazillion pictures to document it thoroughly). The only thing less than fabulous and sophisticated was all the pumping I had to do. (I know, and yes breastfeeding is awesome and worth it). If TMI, sorry.
Anyway, we stayed at the Ritz courtesy of jenn's amazing mom Saturday night, went to some fabulous places in the west village, soho, lower east side. What a blast!

Molly took a bottle while I was gone!!! To some that may sound silly because don't all babies drink bottles? But no, Molly had been refusing since December. But once I was gone she caught back on pretty immediately, or so I've been told. This was a HUGE answer to prayer.

I am actually on the plane headed home right now, and that's why I have time to compose this. We're meeting up with all the crawfords for an Easter celebration this afternoon! (picture is with great-grandmother, from last week when they came over to play)

Happy Easter to everyone. Though we live in a broken world with things like scary car wrecks, Jesus is risen!!
